The best of classical music with Bashmet and orchestra

The small capital of Seychelles, Victoria, recently hosted one of the finest classical music concerts ever to be held on the islands.

World renowned violist and conductor Yuri Bashmet gave an astonishing performance at the International Conference Centre of Seychelles, together with The Moscow Soloists Orchestra.

It was two hours of beautiful classical music which clearly won over the crowd.

The concert opened with Mr Bashmet conducting his 16-strong orchestra in an assortment of pieces.  He then took up his viola to transport his audience smoothly into another world with composition by Mozart, Brahms, Paginini, Bruch and Tchaikovsky.

The event was one of the first to be organized as part of the cultural tourism niche market, and was coordinated by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board, Russian Embassy and other partners.
