STA Starts New Academic Year
March saw the commencement of a new academic year at the STA. The Academy welcomed this year a new group of 300 students in addition to second and third year students already studying at the school, making a total of 1100 students on campus. The new students will be following courses in the fields of; food production, restaurant & bar, reception operations & services, wellness & spa and international tourism.
Also starting a new year at the STA is a third group of Seychellois students to be trained in Hospitality Management. The group is made up of 16 students; a mixture of former A level students and young professionals wishing to become future hotel managers. The course is run in collaboration with Shannon College and Hospitality Management of Ireland and will last for three years. There is already at STA a batch of first and second year student following this diploma course. Management students are interviewed by private sector and are accepted on the recommendations of these professionals.
