New look for Seychelles In Your Pocket Map
14 August 2008
Visitors to Seychelles now have an improved map of Mahe, Praslin and La Digue to refer to when touring the country.
The fourth edition of the Seychelles in Your Pocket map was released recently by Antik Colony, and director Franca Rolfini says it is better than the last one because the information has been updated.
In fact the map details new islands such as Ile Aurore and Ile Perseverance, products of reclamation work.
Ms Rolfini says the maps they have published have all been hand-drawn, giving them a more personal touch.
As well as covering the three main islands, the pocket map gives special emphasis to Victoria, with streets and tourist attractions named.
Visitors also have a section at the front of the fold-up map where they can put down personal details such as their name, address, blood group and any allergies they may have.
Emergency phone numbers are also given here, including Victoria hospital, the Coastguard and rescue helicopter.
Of the 150,000 copies printed, some have been given to Air Seychelles to distribute on all its flights, while others have gone to the different tour operators marketing the country as a holiday destination.
Ms Rolfini says it is good for tour operators to have copies of the map to hand over to their clients, giving them a feel of the country before they arrive.
Meanwhile the next edition of the Seychelles in Your Pocket travel guide will be published in November and will cost R220 locally, or €25 abroad. |
