L’isola di Cerf Island è situata a 3 km a est di Mahé, misura oltre 1.500 metri di lunghezza e quasi 1.000 metri di larghezza, il picco massimo di altezza raggiunge 108 metri.
Quest’isola deve il suo nome alla fregata francese “Le Cerf” che approdò a Port Victoria il 1 Novembre 1756.
Grazie alla sua posizione all’interno del Parco Marino Nazionale, Cerf Island è un’oasi di pace unica in cui il contrasto tra i colori dell’isola e quelli delle acque che la bagnano offrono scorci di spettacolare intensità.
I suoi fondali raggiungono nel punto più profondo i 250 metri e sono popolati da una eccezionale fauna marina che conta oltre 150 specie di pesci corallini, granchi, ricci, stelle di mare, polpi ed altre varietà autoctone.
