Since the beginning of this year, Seychelles has embarked on a number of promotional activities in the US, starting with the New York Travel Show in February and recently, the Seatrade Cruiseship Convention in Miami, Florida.
With its heightened visibility amongst American agents and travellers, the Destination Duo promotion has come out at the right time for Seychelles.
The airline has described its special promotion as “turning every couple’s vacation dream into reality.” With this package, holidaymakers can choose one of the Indian Ocean’s most romantic getaways, as well as their favourite class of service at one reduced price and get two round-trip tickets.
For those choosing the Seychelles Islands, the airfares start from , 135 for Economy Class, , 370 for Business Class and , 120 for First Class.
Bookings for this promotion have opened since March 16, 2010 and will last until May 30, 2010, after which it will resume from September 1 to November 30, 2010. Departures on the Emirates flights are from New York (JFK), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX) and San Francisco (SFO).
Commenting on the new offers by Emirates, the director of tourism marketing, Alain St Ange said that it comes at the right time and will complement promotional efforts in that market.
“We have just returned from New York’s Tourism Fair where we planted the seed for Seychelles to become more visible and widely known. We now need to work with Emirates to consolidate an even more solid partnership to open Seychelles to the USA,” he said.
