One of the world’s most high-profile couples, Victoria and David Beckham, flew home yesterday to be reunited with their sons after a very private romantic retreat in the Seychelles to celebrate their tenth wedding anniversary.
The celebrity couple wed in Ireland on July 4, 1999 and have three children together.
Upon arrival in the Indian Ocean tropical paradise, they stayed at one of the five-star resorts on the main island of Mahé, after which they flew to a luxury eco spa resort by helicopter where they spent their 10-day vacation.
The Seychelles’ director for tourism marketing, Alain St Ange, was at the airport to see them off and presented them with a Coco-de-mer, which is an icon of Seychelles. They had clearly enjoyed their exotic break and he told them that he hopes they visit again.
The couple started dating back in 1997 at the height of the Spice Girl’s Fame and while David was still at Manchester United. They announced their engagement in 1998 and were married one year later.
The idyllic islands of Seychelles, where so many stars and celebrities escaped from their high-profile lifestyle, have surely allowed both David and Victoria to put their feet up and probably enjoy one of their best holidays ever.
You certainly can’t expect less from the true Garden of Eden on earth!
